Cohabitation / Pre Nuptial Advice

Are you contemplating moving in with your partner, getting married or entering into a civil partnership?  If so and if you own property or other assets in your own right, you may want to give some thought to entering into a Cohabitation or Pre-Nuptial Agreement with your partner.

A Pre-Nuptial Agreement can safeguard any property, finances or other assets owned by you before you marry or enter into a civil partnership. In the Agreement, you clearly specify and agree who owns what and how assets should be divided up following a break down in the relationship, or on death. A Pre-Nuptial Agreement is an insurance for the future and can be drawn up relatively inexpensively. A Pre-Cohabitation Agreement can also help minimise any misunderstandings or arguments regarding belongings or assets following a break up which is invariably an extremely stressful time in itself.
